Over the last week, we began reading and taking notes on the classic novella, "Heart of Darkness". We've practiced a variety of note-taking strategies. We also worked on our independent reading program classic novel. At this point, students are expected to have read to the half-way point in their classic novels and to have written a rough draft for their first journal.
Today, students were reminded to complete their peer review for the Review of Form by logging in to turnitin.com and by clicking on the peer review assignment and following instructions. We read pages 17 to 28 of "Heart of Darkness" while completing a note-taking/question-generating worksheet. We then wrote some comprehension and understanding questions, using Bloom's Taxonomy (Style Guide 4).
